New Pastor For Bellemont Named!
An announcement was made that the Rev. Farron Duncan was appointed as the next Senior Pastor of Bellemont. Rev. Duncan and his wife, Patricia (Trish) come to us from St. Paul UMC in Tabor City, North Carolina. They have a married daughter whom resides in Maggie Valley. We know you, the hospitable folks of our congregation, will extend a hearty welcome to the Duncans to help them get acclimated to our church and community. bishop gwinn is keynote speaker on may 27 The Memorial Association of Bellemont UMC will observe it’s 86th anniversary on Sunday, May 27 at 10:45 a.m. During this celebration, we will remember the Saints of Bellemont who have finished their journey on this earth and have been received into the church Triumphant. We are honored to have as our guest speaker, Bishop Alfred Gwinn, the current Bishop of the North Carolina Conference. Following the service, a covered dish luncheon will be served in the Christian Life Center. We hope you plan to join us, as your presence will make this celebration even more special!

4th annual church-wide softball tournament Sign up on the bulletin board to play in the co-ed softball tournament that will be held on June 3, beginning at 1:00 P.M. Players can be 1st graders and beyond! Everyone hits, no balls or strikes and all males older than 6th graders must use a wooden bat. Cost to play is $5.00 and proceeds will help the youth purchase materials for their mission trip to Alabama. Concessions will be available, so make plans to spend the afternoon with your church family. Whether you’re a player or a spectator, it will be an afternoon of enjoyment! The championship game will be played at 6:00 P.M.

Mother’s Day has become important to the United Methodist family of the North Carolina Conference as caring persons in all 12 districts combine efforts to assist retirement community residents whose financial resources have been depleted. The Mother’s Day Offering provides an opportunity for each of us to have a part in providing a more abundant life for residents who need financial support.
stamp out hunger food drive Please mark your calendar for this year’s Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive. It will be held on Saturday, May 12th. Simply place your donation of non-perishable food beside your mailbox that morning before your carrier arrives, and it will be picked up and delivered to Loaves and Fishes for distribution to local families.
